HOW TO IMPORT A .MCSTRUCTURE FILE IN MINECRAFT BEDROCK
Load a SchemForge build into Bedrock Edition on Windows, Android, iOS or console with a structure block or the /structure command.
A .mcstructure file is Bedrock Edition's structure format. Every unlocked SchemForge build includes one, so you can generate a castle, house or statue from text and place it in a Bedrock world. Minecraft upgrades the block data of older structure files when it loads them, so a file exported earlier keeps working after Bedrock updates.
BEFORE YOU START
- Use a Bedrock world with cheats enabled, or a server where you can run commands.
- Back up the world before loading a large structure.
- Structure blocks and /structure are for creative or operator use; they are not available in survival worlds without cheats.
- Large builds can take a moment to place; load them in a loaded area.
1. DOWNLOAD THE FILE
Download the .mcstructure export from your SchemForge build and give it a short name such as oak-tower.mcstructure.
2. IMPORT IT WITH A STRUCTURE BLOCK
Give yourself a structure block, place it, open it and switch it to Load mode. Choose Import and pick the file. You can also load a structure that is already saved in the world with a command:
/structure load mystructure:oak-tower ~ ~ ~
Replace mystructure:oak-tower with the name shown in the structure block. Structures in an add-on's structures folder are named namespace:file.
3. CHECK POSITION BEFORE LOADING
The structure loads from its corner at the structure block or the coordinates you give. Stand in a clear area, check the offset and rotation in the structure block, and try large builds in a copy of the world first.
4. LOAD THE BUILD
Press Load in the structure block, or run the command with a rotation and animation if you want them:
/structure load mystructure:oak-tower ~ ~ ~ 0_degrees none layer_by_layer 2
The last value is the animation time in seconds. SchemForge builds contain blocks only, so you do not need to change the entity options.
TROUBLESHOOTING
The structure will not import
Check that the file ends in .mcstructure and is not still inside a zipped download. Rename it with a short name without spaces.
Some blocks look different or are missing
Report the block and the Bedrock version you use. A block that Bedrock renamed in a newer update can be replaced or skipped when the structure loads.
It loaded in the wrong place
Restore your backup, move the structure block to a better spot and load again. Check the offset values in the structure block first.
